What does this course offer?
Bloodborne pathogens are microorganisms that cause infectious diseases when entered through the bloodstream, Common diseases such as HIV and Hepatitis are transmitted once entered through the bloodstream. This course teaches student how to prevent the high risks of getting an infection when dealing with potential contaminated bodily fluids and what to do if exposure has occurred to yourself or coworkers. Topics include engineering controls, personal protective equipment, personal hygiene, cleaning/disinfecting equipment and supplies, and recognizing, reporting and following up on employee exposures to infectious materials.

This Bloodborne pathogens course is designed towards people who are involved in the industry that deals with bodily fluids such as tattoo artists, makeup artists, nurses and home health aide caretakers.
