BLS Course:
The Basic Life Support (BLS) course is designed to teach the essentials of basic life saving techniques. This course covers topics such as Adult, Child and Infant CPR including proper number of compressions for each victim and how to give breaths both with and without an airway device., the use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) and how to help a victim that is choking or unable to breathe.
Who Should Take the Basic Life Support (BLS) Course?
The Basic Life Support (BLS) course is designed for individuals who work in healthcare or emergency response and need professional-level CPR training. This includes pre-hospital providers such as EMTs, paramedics, and firefighters, as well as in-hospital personnel like nurses, physicians, respiratory therapists, and hospital security staff.
In addition, dentists, dental hygienists, home healthcare workers, and medical assistants are often required to maintain BLS certification as part of their job. Anyone who provides direct care or support to patients in a medical or clinical setting should take a Basic Life Support course to ensure they are prepared to respond to cardiac or respiratory emergencies.
